Diecast 64's Red Desert Baja - October 2017

The Red Desert Baja race is back! 2 years ago I created the Red Desert Baja course.  It was a tough track with jumps, bumps, and multiple surfaces.  This is a one of a kind race on a one of a kind track that you definitly don't want to miss!

Cars run a time trial on the course, the top 16 cars will race head to head in a single elimination bracket.

Here is some video of each cars best run last year.

I am going to make a few modifications to the track. Most likely changing the first hill, and then we'll see after that.

Rules & Restrictions
Max weight 65 grams.
Max length 4 inches.
Max height 2.5 inches.
Width - should fit on Hot Wheels orange track. (I utilized orange track for the start gate last year and probably will do so again this year.)
Cars can be any brand 1/64 scale cars.
Any wheels and axles are allowed.
Stock or modified cars are allowed.
Dry lubes only

One car per entrant.  If you have multiple people sending cars in the same house that’s fine.  I want everyone that wants to enter to be able to, but this race is a lot of video work since everyone gets their own time trial video so just one car per person please. There will be a $1 entrance fee per car.  If you are a member of the Diecast 64 club the entrance fee will be waived for yourself, friends, and family.

Local and Mail-in cars are welcome.  Mail-in cars should be sent with return postage if the racer wants them back.  Mail-in cars should also be accompanied with an entry form.

Where to send your cars:
Robby Comeford
P.O. Box 156
Washington, Utah
84780

All entries must be received before October 21st, 2016.  Racing will take place during the following week with video results posted the following Saturday.

Scoring and Winning will be a little different this year and a little less complicated.
First there will be a time trial.  Each car will have 5 runs.  The fastest 16 cars will qualify for a head to head bracket.  The winner of the bracket will be the Red Desert Baja Champ.  If 16 cars are unable to finish the course during the time trials, the furthest distance each car was able to travel will be used to round out the 16 car bracket.
